Unlike other care homes within the Ipswich area we are blessed with extensive surrounding land

Our Vision

It is our intention to utilise some of this space to provide 147 self-contained apartments for assisted living.

The idea is for an individual or couple to live independently in a fully secure specialist care complex. The residents would be able to access care at levels to suit their needs whilst maintaining their own independence. All apartments are planned to be fully accessible, safe and with emergency call facilities.

As owner of Westerfield House Residential Care Home, we are proud of the way our relatively new home has gained a reputation within the town. Offering residential care and assisted living accommodation to a high standard we gained a CQC good rating at our first inspection in October 2017.

The benefits are many, not least, keeping couples together and fostering companionship to counter the loneliness experienced by a lot of elderly people. In addition, our research has indicated that many large under-utilised houses in the town would be released for family use. This is an innovative proposal which addresses fully the requirements of Central Government to meet the needs of the elderly population in the years to come.

BUT.....We Need YOUR Help

In order to materialise our vision, we need the support of the community!

We have submitted an Outline Planning application to Ipswich Borough Council (Ref: 18/00526/OUT). There is however a lot of detailed work to be done before we can deliver a scheme which satisfies all the stake holders. We have begun to engage with the local health and social care providers and well as housing organisations so that we can assure the development of Westerfield Care Viallage is a great triumph for the comminity.
